About Whole Self Therapy

Whole Self Therapy was created from the belief that healing happens when we honor all parts of a person—not just symptoms, diagnoses, or a single chapter of your life. We aim to find balance, explore inner strength, and give voice to personal truth.

The name reflects a holistic, integrative approach to mental health care that considers:

  • Emotional and psychological experiences

  • Identity, culture, and lived experience

  • Relationships and attachment patterns

  • Nervous system responses and stress physiology

  • Strengths, values, and resilience

Mission

Whole Self Therapy aims to provide thoughtful, inclusive, and compassionate mental health care that empowers individuals to understand themselves more fully and move toward meaningful, values-aligned change.

Therapy here is not about fixing people, it’s about helping them reconnect with their inherent worth, build self-understanding, and develop tools to navigate life with greater clarity and confidence.

Here, all parts of you are welcome— the confident and the uncertain, the strong and the exhausted, the logical and the emotional. Multiple feelings and truths can coexist. You can be grateful and overwhelmed, capable and struggling, healing and still hurting.

Whole Self Therapy honors both your inner world and the larger systems that have shaped you. We recognize that your needs in therapy ebb & flow. There is a time to deconstruct internalized beliefs. A time to challenge patterns. A time to build coping and communication skills. And a time to focus on practical supports that improve daily life.

This is a space where curiosity replaces judgment, and where growth is guided by compassion. It’s a space that honors complexity, and makes room for both skill-building and deep emotional processing.

Values

Compassion & Non-Judgment
Creating space for all emotions, identities, and experiences to be explored safely. We approach every client with warmth, curiosity, and respect— recognizing that coping strategies, symptoms, and patterns develop for understandable reasons.

Whole-Person Care
Honoring the complexity of each individual beyond diagnostic labels. We recognize that wellbeing is shaped not only by internal thoughts and emotions, but also by family systems, culture, identity, community, and the broader social and political climate. Socioeconomic stress, systemic oppression, discrimination, and collective events have real psychological impact.

Whole-person care means validating these influences whole also building skills, processing experiences, and strengthening resilience through community care. We are committed to practicing therapy through a social justice lens, both within the therapy room and beyond it, supporting advocacy and policies that uphold the dignity and wellbeing of vulnerable communities.

Inclusivity & Affirmation
Whole Self Therapy is committed to providing affirming, identity-safe care. We intentionally create space that welcomes neurodivergent individuals, LGBTQ+ clients, and people from diverse racial, cultural, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds. This includes recognizing the impact of minority stress on mental health.

Affirmation here is not neutral tolerance— it is active respect, curiosity, and support for the fullness of who you are.
